The #1 Way to Recognize Happiness in Your Life

Happy July and if you are in the United States we are celebrating our American Independence Day tomorrow, so Happy 4th as well. Week 27 is all about HAPPINESS! And I'm going to tell you The #1 Way to recognize happiness in your life for Abundant Living. And it is simply to CHECK IN WITH YOURSELF! Honestly, how often do we check in with our emotions enough to recognize what actually makes us feel good. It is an important practice to learn because when we are unaware of our happiness we often can get stuck in negative emotions such as disappointment or fear. In order to check in with your emotions I encourage you to start with the 3 steps below:

Step 1 Slow Down- often times we are so busy going from one activity to the next we miss those moments that bring us joy. So when you feel happiness- stop! Then move to step 2.

Step 2 Acknowledge and give thanks- immediately giving thanks for the happiness you feel in the moment will not only extend the emotion but it will strengthen your ability to recognize when happiness is present. Need more practice. Then give yourself about 4 minutes to do step 3.

Step 3 Ask yourself questions- this will allow your mind to focus and shift your emotions. Below are some questions you can ask yourself to get started:

  1. What excites me?

  2. What do I love to do?

  3. What do I enjoy doing?

  4. What gives me joy when I experience it?

  5. What always brings a smile to my face?

  6. What can I do today to bring more happiness into my life?

Conclusion

Do you want more abundance, sense of joy and fulfillment as you journey through life? This week I encourage you to do at least 1 of the 3 things listed above. Take this week to reflect on your experiences and write down in a journal all you discover. Taking action and then journaling about your results is an awareness process that can create more happiness in your life. Make sure to stay tuned.
