Top 10 Self-Care To Practice At Home To Boost Your Immune System
Updated: Mar 27, 2020

Being stuck at home doesn't mean doing nothing, it's a great opportunity to do what you can to strengthen your immune system. Below are my top 10 things that I'm doing and hope that it helps you too.
#10 Drink Plenty of Water- drinking water can be the cure your body needs. Many of us are dehydrated which lowers our immune system. Water replenishes while releasing toxins.
#9 Monitor Your Diet - make sure you are aware of how your body feels after eating certain foods. This may even include keeping a food journal. I personally subscribe to an anti-inflammatory diet which includes garlic, ginger, leafy greens, and berries.
#8 Exercise- move your body, give your body the strength it needs. Healthy people are active people. Start with a minimum workout you can do at home then increase to 30 minutes every other day. If you find a hobby you love to do like walking, running, dancing, swimming, or cycling it becomes less about exercise and just movement you enjoy.
#7 Laugh- studies show laughing everyday was cited to help heal people with life threatening illnesses.
#6 Get Enough Sleep- rest does the body good. Sometimes the best thing you can do for your body is rest. Think more rest and less stress. Research suggest that getting 6 to 8 hours of sleep has healing benefits. Do you know how much sleep your body needs? I personally do well with 8.5 hours of sleep. This includes a 15 to 30 minute cat- nap during the day.
#5 Affirmations- keeping a positive mindset is good for your health. Use affirmations to keep a positive vibration which gives you more chance of a stronger immune system.
#4 Skin Care- don't forget to treat your skin well after steaming that face, hair, and nails add a little olive oil a natural immunity booster.
#3 Epsom Salt Bath- Relaxation is so important. Try a Lavender or Pink Himalayan bath and see how your body feels after.
#2 Vitamins -vitamin d, c, and b's - iron if needed all benefit your immune system. Taking a multivitamin aids to combat any deficiencies. However, always consult your doctor before beginning any new supplements.
#1 Stillness -stillness is being introspective, meditating, prayer, listening to your body, doing absolutely nothing without guilt, watching the sunset, taking deep breaths, sitting still by the ocean and listening to waves; just to name a few.
